Holden Colorado touchscreen playing up? Here is what is actually going on

Holden Colorado touchscreen replacement

If your Colorado’s screen has started changing radio stations by itself, ignoring your finger in certain spots, or pressing things you never touched — you are not imagining it, and you have not broken it. It is one of the most common faults we see.

The three symptoms

Almost every call about a Colorado screen is one of these:

Ghost touch. The screen registers presses you did not make. It will open menus, skip tracks or change settings while you are driving.

Channels changing on their own. A specific and maddening version of the same problem — the radio hops stations while your hands are on the wheel.

Dead zones. Part of the screen simply stops responding. Usually it is the area you use most, because that is where the wear is.

They are all the same underlying fault: the touch layer itself has failed. It gets worse over time, not better, and no amount of resetting the system fixes it.

It affects every MyLink version

We see this across the whole MyLink range fitted to the Colorado. It is not specific to one model year or one screen size — if your Colorado has a factory touchscreen, it is a candidate. Worth saying plainly, because a lot of owners assume theirs is too new or too old to be affected.

Repair or replace?

The display gets replaced. The touch layer is not something that can be meaningfully repaired once it is failing, and a fix that lasts three months is not a fix.

The good news is that the rest of your system stays exactly as it is. Same head unit, same settings, same everything. Only the display changes.

What makes ours different

Here is the honest bit: most places selling Colorado touchscreens are selling the same GM part. We are not going to pretend otherwise. The difference is how you get it, and what stands behind it.

You receive a complete, ready-to-fit display. We fit the new digitiser onto a genuine Holden display before it goes out, so what arrives is not a loose part you have to assemble — it is a finished unit, ready to go straight in.

It is a swap, and the return is already paid. In the same box you will find a return bag with the postage already covered. Once yours is fitted, the faulty display goes back to us in that bag. Nothing extra to pay, no sorting out postage yourself.

In Auckland, Hamilton or Whangarei? We will fit it for you

It is designed as a do-it-yourself product, and most customers fit it themselves without trouble. But if you are in Auckland, Hamilton or Whangarei and would rather not pull your own dash apart, we will fit it for you at the same price. No extra charge for the installation.

Not sure if it is your screen?

If it is ghost touch, self-changing channels or dead zones, it almost always is. If you are seeing something else — a black screen, no power, or sound problems — that may be a different fault and worth a conversation first.

We ship anywhere in New Zealand and Australia. Send us a photo of your dash and tell us what it is doing. We will tell you straight whether a new display will fix it.
